B lightman is a fantastic TKD school, both my boys go and are absolutely loving it. The boundaries and respect factor is great along with the teaching. The staff have great empathy skills with the students and can support them well in all areas of development beyond simply TKD!

  2. B Lightman Martial Arts are excited to announce that we have been accepted for another year as members of the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association, the BMABA are prestigious association, with 151 member clubs, not only in the UK but across the world and are growing stronger by the day.

One of the bigger features is that they are a non-political association, B Lightman Martial Arts have now been operating for two years with many great successes, yes we are in unit 2 Matthews house but please be assured that we are not associated or connected in any way to the previous school that were in this building.

I would like to say that we are independent school with qualified and licensed instructors, first aid qualified, DBS disclosure and insured for £10,000,000 liability insurance, with student member to member insurance of £2,000,000 per student, 13 years experience training in Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing and Weapons, with female instructors.

We welcome all ages from 5 to 60 years plus, we do not discriminate and welcome all who enter B lightman Martial arts DoJo who want to train either Tae Kwon Do or Kickboxing, if students train in either discipline regularly train, they are welcome to train in weapons learning combat fight training with bo staffs, swords and nun-chucks etc.

All belt gradings are recognised and registered nationally and internationally through the British Martial Arts and Boxing Association, here’s to a great new year with British martial arts and boxing association, to out current students and future potential students, feel free to come along and give us a try.

One of my friends asked “Why do you pay so much money for your kids to train in martial arts?” Well I have a confession to make, I don’t pay for my kids to train in martial arts.

So, if I am not paying for my kids martial arts, what am I paying for?

    – I pay for those moments when my kids become so tired they want to quit but don’t.

    – I pay for those days when my kids come home from school and are “too tired” to go to their training but go anyway.

    – I pay for my kids to learn to be disciplined.

    – I pay for my kids to learn to take care of their body.

    – I pay for my kids to learn to work with others and to be good team mates.

    – I pay for my kids to learn to deal with disappointment, when they don’t get that score they’d hoped for, but still have to work hard in the grading.

    – I pay for my kids to learn to make and accomplish goals.

    – I pay for my kids to learn that it takes hours and hours and hours and hours of hard work and practice to create a champion, and that success does not happen overnight.

    – I pay for the opportunity my kids have and will have to make life-long friendships.

    – I pay so that my kids can be in the DoJo instead of in front of a screen…
…I could go on but, to be short, I don’t pay for martial arts, I pay for the opportunities that martial arts provides my kids with to develop attributes that will serve them well throughout their lives and give them the opportunity to bless the lives of others. From what I have seen so far I think it is a great investment!
